About the Role

Join Mayo Clinic as an IT Intern and gain valuable experience in the field of Information Technology. This remote internship is designed to provide you with hands-on experience in your chosen field of study. You will work closely with mentors who will guide you through various tasks and projects, helping you to develop your skills and knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Internship Duration: This is a temporary position lasting approximately 9 months from the start date.
• Mentorship: You will be assigned one or more mentors who will provide instruction, guidance, and performance assessment.
• Learning and Development: You will observe the functions and processes of the assigned work unit and may be given selected work assignments to reinforce your learning experience.
• Performance Assessment: Your performance will be assessed to provide benefits to the work unit and to enhance your learning experience.
• Internship Assignments: Complete all internship-related assignments and reports for both Mayo Clinic and your educational institution.

Technical Skills Required

• SharePoint Proficiency: Strong understanding of SharePoint features, functionalities, and best practices.
• Web Development Skills: Familiarity with HTML, CSS, and potentially JavaScript or a scripting language.
• Learning Agility: Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies or software.

Soft Skills Required

• User-Centric Approach: Understanding of user experience principles and ability to create user-friendly SharePoint sites.
• Problem-Solving: Ability to identify and resolve technical challenges effectively.
• Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
• Teamwork and Collaboration: Ability to work effectively in a team environment and contribute to shared goals.
• Initiative: Self-motivated and proactive approach to work.

Preferred Experience

• Experience working with SharePoint or other content management systems is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in a bachelor's, master's, or graduate degree program from a college or university.
• Typically, this internship would occur after the student has taken most of the courses required by the degree program.
• Where applicable, the degree program must require an internship as a graduation requirement or offer it as a credit option.

Compensation

• Hourly Rate: $25.00 per hour.
• Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per two-week pay period, with a flexible schedule.

Additional Information

• Location: This is a remote position, allowing you to work from anywhere.
• Benefits: This position is not benefits eligible.
• Weekend Schedule: None.
