Job Overview

Agoda is seeking a Lead Full Stack Software Engineer to join our dynamic team in Bangkok, Thailand. This role is pivotal in driving the technical direction of our web and app products, which serve millions of users worldwide. As a Lead Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and implementing new systems and components, mentoring other engineers, and leading crucial technical projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Ownership of Mission-Critical Systems: Maintain and take responsibility for the performance and reliability of key systems.
• Hands-On Development: Build high-volume platforms using cutting-edge technologies such as React and GraphQL.
• Mentorship: Coach and mentor other software engineers to foster a culture of learning and growth.
• Agile Practices: Be a major contributor to our agile and scrum practices, ensuring efficient and effective project delivery.
• Technical Leadership: Design and lead technical projects and initiatives across teams and departments.
• Innovation: Stay on the leading edge of technical know-how, industry trends, and drive technical innovations.

Required Skills and Experience

• Extensive Experience: 10+ years of experience in developing web applications using client-side frameworks such as React, Angular, or VueJS.
• Educational Background: B.S. in Computer Science or a related quantitative field; M.S. preferred.
• Agile and CD Experience: Working experience with agile methodologies, analytics, A/B testing, feature flags, Continuous Delivery, and Trunk-based Development.
• Front-End Expertise: Excellent HTML/CSS skills and a strong understanding of object-oriented JavaScript and TypeScript.
• Communication Skills: Excellent communication and coordination skills.
• Problem Solving: Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• English Proficiency: Good command of the English language.

Preferred Qualifications

• Architecture Knowledge: Experience in building resilient, highly available solutions with no single point of failure.
• NoSQL and Queueing Systems: Knowledge of NoSQL technologies and experience with queueing systems like Kafka or RabbitMQ.
• Containerization: Experience with Docker and Kubernetes is a plus.
• Performance Optimization: Strong experience in client-side performance optimization.
• Modern Coding Practices: Proficiency in modern coding and design practices such as Clean Code, SOLID principles, and TDD.
• Cross-Platform Experience: Experience in multiple front-end platforms including iOS, Android, Web, and API services.
