About the Role
Agoda is seeking a Lead Full Stack Software Engineer to join our dynamic team in Bangkok, Thailand. This role is pivotal in driving the technical direction of our web and app products, which serve millions of users worldwide. As a Lead Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and implementing high-volume platforms using cutting-edge technologies, mentoring other engineers, and leading crucial technical projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Ownership of Mission-Critical Systems: Maintain and take responsibility for the systems that are vital to our operations.
- Hands-On Development: Build high-volume platforms using technologies like React and GraphQL.
- Mentorship: Mentor and coach other software engineers to foster a culture of learning and growth.
- Agile Practices: Be a major contributor to our agile and scrum practices, ensuring efficient and effective project delivery.
- Technical Leadership: Design and lead technical projects and initiatives across teams and departments.
- Innovation: Stay on the leading edge of technical know-how, industry trends, and drive technical innovations.
What You’ll Need
- Experience: 10+ years in developing web applications with client-side frameworks such as React, Angular, or VueJS.
- Education: B.S. in Computer Science or a related field; M.S. preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in HTML/CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript, and experience with agile methodologies, A/B testing, and Continuous Delivery.
- Communication: Excellent communication and coordination skills.
- Problem Solving: Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Passion for Technology: A love for new technologies and approaches, with a desire to use the best tools available.
Preferred Qualifications
- Architecture Knowledge: Experience in building resilient, highly available solutions at scale.
- NoSQL and Queueing Systems: Knowledge of technologies like Cassandra, ScyllaDB, ElasticSearch, Redis, DynamoDB, Kafka, RabbitMQ, etc.
- Containerization: Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Performance Optimization: Strong experience in client-side performance optimization.
- Global Experience: Worked on global projects with distributed data centers and localization.
