Lead Software Engineer - AI Products

As the Lead Software Engineer for AI products at Source.ag, you will be at the forefront of developing cutting-edge solutions for the horticulture industry. This role involves a blend of engineering tasks including backend, data, and machine learning engineering, as well as some frontend responsibilities. You will lead a team to translate the company and product vision into robust, scalable, and secure SaaS products.
Responsibilities
- Technical Leadership: Provide technical direction and oversee the architecture of AI products. Collaborate with the Product Manager to convert the product roadmap into a technical delivery roadmap.
- Team Management: Lead and coach your team, setting clear expectations and monitoring progress. Work closely with the Lead Data Scientist to drive the productization of AI models.
- Engineering Tasks: Engage in hands-on problem solving and incident resolution. Ensure the technical quality of the products through coding standards and rigorous QA procedures.
- Strategic Planning: Work with the VP of Engineering to define the technical roadmap and architectural vision, making trade-offs to balance long-term stability with timely delivery of features.
Qualifications
- At least 7 years of experience in software engineering.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in managing and leading teams.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Golang and Python, and experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.
- Experience in bringing machine learning models to production and applying data engineering best practices.
