Job Overview
We are seeking a Lead AI Engineer to spearhead the Neon AI Team. This role involves building AI Agents that enhance the Neon platform, providing a superior experience for developers and automating routine tasks. You will be responsible for leading a small team of engineers, focusing on backend technologies, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality software solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and Lead the AI Team: Establish and guide a team of 1-2 engineers, focusing on rapid development and delivery.
- Coding and Development: Spend at least 50% of your time coding, focusing on backend technologies and databases.
- End-to-End Delivery: Own the delivery process from ideation through to iteration and final delivery.
- Mentorship: Mentor and guide software engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative team environment.
- On-Call Rotations: Participate in on-call rotations to handle and resolve critical issues.
Required Skills and Experience
- AI Tools Development: Experience in building AI tools or agents for software development.
- Backend Proficiency: Strong experience in backend technologies, with proficiency in languages such as Go or Rust.
- Leadership Experience: Previous experience in a tech or team lead role.
- Infrastructure Technologies: Familiarity with Kubernetes, Docker, Github CI/CD, and public cloud environments.
- Problem Solving: Excellent problem-solving skills in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Communication: Strong ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
