Join Agoda as a Lead Software Engineer – Back End (FinTech) based in Bangkok, where you will play a pivotal role in developing robust backend systems and architecting scalable data pipelines. This position is perfect for someone with a dual expertise in backend and data engineering, aiming to optimize financial technology solutions and drive informed business decisions through reliable data insights.

Key Responsibilities

• Full Product Lifecycle Ownership: Engage in the complete lifecycle of our products, from understanding business requirements to technology selection, coding standards, agile development, unit and application testing, CI/CD, and monitoring.
• Platform and Data Pipeline Development: Design, develop, and maintain platforms and data pipelines across fintech.
• System Performance Optimization: Build stable, scalable, and high-performance systems to meet the dynamic demands of the financial landscape.
• Mentorship and Collaboration: Write great code and mentor others, fostering cross-functional collaboration to drive product and technology goals.
• Leadership and Innovation: Inspire innovation and drive vision into reality, playing a pivotal role in recruiting and onboarding exceptional talent.

What You’ll Need

• Experience: Over 10 years of experience with strong proficiency in Java, Kotlin, Scala, or C#, and a proven track record of developing high-performance applications.
• Big Data Technologies: Insightful experience with Hadoop, real-time processing frameworks like Apache Spark, and advanced knowledge of SQL and data architecture.
• Problem Solving and Strategic Mindset: Exceptional problem-solving skills with a strategic mindset, adaptability to new changes, and foresight to anticipate future needs.
• Agile Methodologies: Experience with Scrum/Agile development methodologies.
• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• FinTech Experience: Experience working in a modern FinTech or Payments organization.
• Domain Knowledge: Knowledge in financial reconciliation, financial reporting, tax, payout methods like virtual credit cards or customer payments.
• Technical Skills: Hands-on experience with technologies like Spark for data processing, ETLs for data pipelines, and queueing systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ).
• Infrastructure Tools: Familiarity with core engineering infrastructure tools like GitLab for source control and Continuous Integration, Kubernetes.
• Leadership Experience: Experience in leading projects, initiatives, and/or teams, with full ownership of the systems involved.
