About the Role

As a PHP Backend Developer at Hostwinds, you will play a crucial role in developing and maintaining sophisticated backend systems that empower our clients to interact seamlessly with our cloud products and services. You will be part of a collaborative team, working closely with project managers and cross-functional departments to design and implement API endpoints and other backend functionalities.

Key Responsibilities

Develop, implement, test, document, and maintain backend systems to the highest quality standards.
Write clean, scalable, and maintainable code.
Collaborate with project managers and other departments to design API endpoints.
Participate in architecture discussions and code reviews for current and future features.

Required Skills and Experience

3 to 5 years of experience in backend application development.
At least 2 years of experience in building RESTful APIs using PHP.
Advanced proficiency in Object-Oriented Programming.
Familiarity with tools and technologies such as Redis, RabbitMQ, Resque, Doctrine 2, and MySQL.
Proficiency in version control tools like Git.
Experience working in a Scrum/Agile or Kanban workflow.
Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication skills.

Nice to Have

Experience with PHPUnit for writing tests.
Familiarity with Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Deployment (CD) practices.
Experience with Openstack.
Skills in creating integrations with payment processors.

Location

This is an on-site position based in our Seattle office. We are looking for candidates who are willing to work in-person and are eligible to work in the United States. Unfortunately, we do not offer visa sponsorship.
