About the Role
As a PHP Backend Developer at Hostwinds, you will play a crucial role in developing and maintaining sophisticated backend systems that empower our clients to interact seamlessly with our cloud products and services. You will be part of a collaborative team, working closely with project managers and cross-functional departments to design and implement API endpoints and other backend functionalities.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, test, document, and maintain backend systems to the highest quality standards.
- Write clean, scalable, and maintainable code.
- Collaborate with project managers and other departments to design API endpoints.
- Participate in architecture discussions and code reviews for current and future features.
Required Skills and Experience
- 3 to 5 years of experience in backend application development.
- At least 2 years of experience in building RESTful APIs using PHP.
- Advanced proficiency in Object-Oriented Programming.
- Familiarity with tools and technologies such as Redis, RabbitMQ, Resque, Doctrine 2, and MySQL.
- Proficiency in version control tools like Git.
- Experience working in a Scrum/Agile or Kanban workflow.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
Nice to Have
- Experience with PHPUnit for writing tests.
- Familiarity with Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Deployment (CD) practices.
- Experience with Openstack.
- Skills in creating integrations with payment processors.

Location
This is an on-site position based in our Seattle office. We are looking for candidates who are willing to work in-person and are eligible to work in the United States. Unfortunately, we do not offer visa sponsorship.
