About the Role
As a PHP Backend Developer at Hostwinds, you will play a crucial role in constructing and maintaining our back-end systems. Your responsibilities will include:
- Developing, implementing, testing, documenting, and maintaining back-end systems to the highest quality standards.
- Writing code that is scalable, maintainable, and of high quality.
- Collaborating with a Project Manager and cross-functional teams to design API endpoints.
- Participating in architecture discussions and conducting code reviews for current and future features.
Required Skills and Experience
- 3 to 5 years of experience in backend application development.
- At least 2 years of experience in building RESTful APIs using PHP.
- Advanced proficiency in Object-Oriented Programming.
- Familiarity with tools and technologies such as Resque, RabbitMQ, Redis, Doctrine 2, and MySQL.
- Strong understanding of design principles for scalable applications.
- Proficiency in version control tools like Git.
- Experience working in a Scrum/Agile or Kanban environment.
- Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration.
Nice to Have
- Experience with PHPUnit for writing tests.
- Familiarity with Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Deployment (CD) practices.
- Experience with Openstack.
- Skills in creating and maintaining application frameworks.
- Experience in integrating with payment processors.
