The Role

As a Principal Software Engineer of Developer Experience tools, you will be contributing to the development of internal tools to support the developer community. You will be expected to have full stack experience, knowledge of web and mobile development, and familiarity with multiple programming languages.

The Expertise You Have

• A degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering is preferred.
• 8+ years of software engineering/development experience.
• Strong experience with JavaScript/TypeScript is required, with Python being an added plus.
• Knowledge of Development Tools, Environments, and IDP/IDE plugins.
• Proficient in working with different types of SQL and NoSQL databases, such as MongoDB, AWS DocumentDB, Neo4j, DynamoDB, AWS RDS, MySQL, Postgres, etc.
• Cloud Native Engineering, DevSecOps, and (AWS OR AZURE) Cloud implementation experience preferred.
• Knowledge of modern UI frameworks such as Angular and React.

The Team

The Developer Experience engineering team is responsible for building, enhancing, and supporting tools that enable developers to be more effective, such as an internal developer platform/IDP (e.g., Backstage) and TLM dependency tools such as Mend Renovate.

Fidelity's working model blends the best of working offsite with maximizing time together in person to meet associate and business needs. Currently, most hybrid roles require associates to work onsite all business days of one assigned week per four-week period (beginning in September 2024, the requirement will be two full assigned weeks).
