Software Engineer - Java, Spring Boot, AWS

Job Description

As a Software Engineer, you will be an integral part of the Digital Shared Service (DSS) organization at Fidelity Investments. This role offers you the opportunity to develop your skills, collaborate across Fidelity teams, and continue to learn in a fun, collaborative, iterative, and rapidly changing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement solutions for product features, working closely with the technical lead and senior engineers.
• Build secure, scalable, resilient cloud-based services utilizing modern software development practices.
• Develop key features that contribute to overall product development.
• Participate in engineering practices such as code and design reviews, environment strategy, and build and deployment pipeline.

The Team

Within DSS, the squad is responsible for several applications supporting backend services and APIs that provide capabilities for our frontend applications. Additionally, they are leading the development for Graph-based architecture for our Business Unit.

The Expertise You Have

• Experience in core Java language, including Object Oriented Design concepts, data structures, Web Services such as REST, and design patterns.
• Experience in frameworks like Spring Boot.
• Knowledge of AWS or other cloud platforms and containerization technologies such as EKS and Docker is beneficial.
• Strong understanding of Object Oriented Programming.
• Comfortable with version control systems like GIT.
• Knowledge of the Spring Webflux framework is an add-on.
• Experience with unit and integration test automation using Junit and Spring Boot test framework.

• A solid foundation in software engineering – Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in computer science or engineering.
• Analytical thinking skills to solve technical challenges.
• Passionate and committed to learning new things and developing with the latest technologies and frameworks.
• Ability to work well in a small agile team with support from senior and lead engineers, having a strong user focus.
• Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills and the ability to handle assigned tasks.
