Job Role and Responsibilities
As a Principal Software Engineer in the Software Integration team, you will be part of the Special Projects team within the office of the CTO. This elite group of senior software engineering experts is tasked with steering technology development in alignment with the CTO’s vision. Your role will involve:
- Technology Strategy Ideation: Developing technologies to facilitate strategic articulation.
- Rapid Iteration with Customer Feedback: Showcasing developed architectures to customers, gathering feedback, and iterating based on the feedback.
- Creating Reference Implementations: Developing potential future products or components.
- Exploring Future Technologies: Evaluating future hardware and software technologies that could impact Shield AI’s product roadmap.
- Technical Debt Identification: Analyzing and synthesizing solutions to address technical debt across the software stack.
Required Qualifications
- 15+ years of experience in developing large, production-quality software systems.
- Expertise in modern C++ (C++17 and beyond).
- Deep experience in architectural design and implementation of large and complex distributed systems.
- Proficiency in Git and other code management tools.
- Passion for developing optimized software solutions and maintaining high standards in software hygiene.
- Strong collaboration skills and a desire to continuously learn and adapt.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the aerospace or robotics industries.
- Hands-on experience with major cloud platforms like Azure, GCP, and AWS.
- Leadership experience or technical project lead roles.
- Professional experience in Linux environments and containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
Workplace and Compensation
