Overview
Join Shield AI as a Senior DevEx Engineer in our San Diego office, where you will be instrumental in enhancing the development velocity of our Hivemind teams. This role involves significant interaction with software developers to gather feedback, develop internal tools, and optimize workflows and guidelines. You will own the build architecture, define metrics and signals, and make strategic decisions to improve software quality and quantity across the organization.
Responsibilities
- Utilize a DevOps mentality to reduce friction for developers across the company.
- Develop, support, and enhance C++ build systems to ensure repeatability and robustness.
- Enhance CI systems for robust execution and ease of use.
- Apply software systems to internal and third-party consumers of Hivemind Edge.
- Create and interpret Developer Experience metrics to drive improvements.
- Architect tools for internal developers integrating software into Hivemind.
- Build out systems architectures and infrastructure as needed.
Qualifications
- BS in Computer Science or related field with 5+ years of experience.
- Proficiency in a compiled programming language (C, C++, Rust, Go) and Python in a production environment.
- Strong experience with cloud service providers like Google, Azure, AWS.
- Expertise in CMake and continuous integration tools (Github Actions, ADO, TeamCity).
- Knowledge of git, scripting in Bash and Python, and system administration in Linux.
- Familiarity with containers (Docker, Podman).
- Experience with debugging and profiling tools (gdb, valgrind, lldb).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Conan Package Manager.
- Deep understanding of the C++ build ecosystem.
- DevOps experience with Azure.
- Experience with drones or automated vehicles.
