Role Overview
As a Protocol Engineer at Edge & Node, you will play a crucial role in advancing The Graph protocol. You will be involved in the design, research, and implementation of protocol improvements. This includes working on smart contracts, system architecture, and collaborating with cross-organizational teams within The Graph ecosystem.
Responsibilities
- Implement smart contracts for The Graph protocol, including improvements, bug fixes, and new features.
- Write unit tests, integration tests, documentation, and monitoring scripts.
- Collaborate with external auditors to ensure code security and quality.
- Deploy well-tested code to networks like Arbitrum One.
- Contribute to the development of oracles, subgraphs, and other off-chain components.
- Work closely with system architects, engineers, and researchers to design future protocol mechanisms.
- Support product managers and engineers in creating products that interact with the protocol.
- Participate in community governance, including forum discussions and community calls.
Qualifications
- Experience in software engineering, particularly in low-level systems and constrained environments.
- Proficiency in programming languages, with a preference for those experienced in Solidity or Rust.
- Familiarity with blockchain technology, smart contracts, and web3 applications.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a collaborative attitude.
- Passion for learning and a willingness to engage in hands-on development.
Nice to Have
- Experience with mainnet blockchain deployments.
- Knowledge of subgraphs, ethers.js, or GraphQL.
- Experience with security audits or formal verification methods.
Compensation and Culture
