The Role
As a Senior Backend Engineer at Eigen Labs, you will leverage your extensive experience in backend development and distributed systems to create technologies that power the world’s most innovative crypto projects. You will be part of a team that is deeply involved in the development of EigenLayer, a platform that delivers security to novel distributed applications in the blockchain ecosystem.
What You Will Do
- Collaborate across teams, external partners, and customers to design and develop backends.
- Maintain and run blockchain nodes and related tools on varying infrastructure environments such as Docker, Kubernetes, or bare metal.
- Create node operator tools capable of interacting with smart contracts and launching to different types of validator environments and cloud.
- Engage in proactive research and learning of new concepts, ideas, and frameworks.
- Contribute to technical discussions, sprint and roadmap planning, and improving team processes.
What You Will Bring
- A BS in Computer Science or a related technical field (e.g., physics or mathematics).
- Over 5 years of backend distributed systems experience.
- At least 2 years of full life cycle development with Go, Rust, or C++.
- Exposure to cloud technologies (key management and/or bootstrapping AWS environments).
- Experience with highly scalable P2P networks or Blockchain networks.
Nice to Haves
- Familiarity with blockchain technology and concepts such as cryptography, polynomial commitments, signature schemes, hash functions, erasure codes, multi-threaded and parallel computing.
- Ability to integrate smart contracts.
- Experience with Liquid Staking or Node Operations platforms.
- Public contributions to Open Source Projects.
