About the Role
Chainlink Labs is seeking a Senior Software Engineer (Backend) to join our dynamic engineering team. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be instrumental in developing and scaling our decentralized applications, which are at the forefront of blockchain technology and decentralized finance (DeFi). You will work on projects that enable smart contracts to securely interact with off-chain data and computation, solving real-world problems.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with a team of talented engineers to design, develop, and maintain backend services for Chainlink's decentralized applications.
- Work on Chainlink’s Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP) to enable complete interoperability between blockchains.
- Integrate upcoming blockchains into the Chainlink platform, working directly with founding engineers of new ecosystems.
- Develop solutions that bridge the gap between decentralized and traditional finance, providing liquidity to capital markets through tokenization of real-world assets.
- Contribute to the open-source community and mentor junior developers.
Requirements
- At least 5+ years of professional engineering experience in a collaborative, product-driven environment.
- Expert proficiency in one or more of our core languages: Golang, TypeScript, Solidity, or Rust.
- Strong enthusiasm for blockchain, Web3, and decentralized technologies.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
- Solid understanding of computer science fundamentals.
- Ability to work remotely as part of a distributed team across multiple time zones.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in blockchain and other Web 3.0 technologies, either as a Web3 developer or backend service developer.
- Proven track record in mentoring and supporting junior developers.
- Experience in communicating project progress, dependencies, and risk mitigation directly with stakeholders and partners.

Work Environment
All roles at Chainlink Labs are global and remote-based. We ask that you try to overlap some working hours with Eastern Standard Time (EST).
