Role Overview

As a Senior Software Engineer, Backend at SimSpace, you will be responsible for developing and designing core services as part of a distributed application for the construction and simulation of cybersecurity ranges. You will lead the team through challenging technical projects and collaborate with other engineers, user experience designers, and product managers.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and design core services for cybersecurity range simulations.
• Lead technical projects and mentor other engineers.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve culture, coding best practices, and systems architecture.
• Support and mentor other engineers.

Qualifications

• Production experience developing and operating services at scale.
• Proficiency in API Design and software testing principles.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes, with extra points for experience with TKG or OpenShift.
• Experience in developing fault-tolerant systems from the ground up.
• Comfortable leading, driving, and delegating team initiatives.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a collaborative approach.
• Open to feedback and willing to provide feedback to colleagues.
• Focused on delivering high-quality, well-tested code.

Nice to Have

• 6+ years of hands-on software development experience.
• Familiarity with Cybersecurity and Networking.
• Familiarity with virtualization technologies like vSphere/vCenter/VCDF.
• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
