Role Overview: Software Engineer II
As a Software Engineer II at Stavvy, you will be an integral part of our growing Engineering team. You will be responsible for developing the core backend capabilities that will have the largest impact on the experience of Stavvy’s users. This role involves working on a product that is driving change in the mortgage industry by simplifying processes and moving towards paperless transactions.
Key Responsibilities
- Write well-tested, scalable, production-ready code in Kotlin and Python.
- Develop back-end systems with API usability and experience in mind.
- Collaborate with our product, design, and development teams to fully create and understand the requirements for what is necessary to be produced.
- Test and debug the code to ensure correctness and completeness.
- Improve functionality and stability of existing systems.
- Assess and prioritize feature requests in collaboration with our Product Management team.
- Fully participate in agile team ceremonies, including refinement, sprint planning, and standup.
- Grow yourself and your team’s engineering skills by mentoring and participating in design and code reviews.
- Work on special projects or other duties as designated by your manager.
Who You Are
- Creative, skilled, and self-driven Software Engineer with 3+ years of back-end engineering experience.
- Proficiency in Kotlin and/or Java, with experience or a willingness to learn Python.
- Understanding of modern web infrastructure and architecture patterns.
- Experience building services in a cloud platform (AWS preferred).
- Familiarity with PostgreSQL or some other SQL Database.
- Experience with Data Dog and a strong interest in observability is a plus.
- Capable of writing complex backend code for a publicly accessible web application that can scale with the expected business growth.
- Committed to collaborative problem solving and sophisticated design.
- Natural collaborator and problem solver who thrives in fast-paced environments.
- Relentlessly curious and continuously working to build your knowledge and learn.
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary Range: €125,000 - €150,000 per year.
- Benefits: Fully covered medical insurance, dental and vision insurance, equity, unlimited PTO, paid holidays, 401K, paid parental, medical & military leave.
- Workplace: Hybrid, with an office centrally located in Boston’s financial district.
