Job Overview
Somewear Labs is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join our team. This role is pivotal in developing a platform that saves lives by enabling critical communications for commercial and government teams. You will work on building features that power our client applications and satellite hardware, ensuring seamless communication in high-pressure environments.
Responsibilities
- Work with technologies such as Spring, Postgres, Redis, gRPC, Kotlin, GCP, and AWS.
- Build features that power our client applications and satellite hardware.
- Design and develop integrations with partner systems.
- Manage and improve our cloud infrastructure.
- Collaborate with frontend engineers to design and build APIs.
- Collaborate with designers to develop and improve the user experience.
- Establish new engineering standards, tools, and processes.
Requirements
- 8+ years of software development experience.
- 2+ years of experience in developing backend web applications, preferably on the JVM.
- Experience building and managing production systems in AWS or GCP.
- Passionate about understanding users and building life-saving features.
- Eager to work across the stack and tackle tough technical challenges.
- Capable of taking ownership and bringing an idea from concept to production.
