Amazon is seeking a highly skilled Navigation Scientist to join the Prime Air team, focusing on developing advanced algorithms and software for our delivery drone program. This role is pivotal in driving innovation and applying state-of-the-art technologies to solve real-world delivery challenges.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive navigation analysis to support cross-functional decision-making.
• Define system architecture and requirements for Prime Air's navigation systems.
• Develop and implement flight algorithms to enhance drone delivery capabilities.
• Identify and leverage innovative technological opportunities to meet evolving customer demands.

Basic Qualifications

• PhD, or Master's degree with 4+ years of experience in science, technology, engineering, or a related field.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, C++, or Python.
• Experience in implementing algorithms using both toolkits and self-developed code.

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional software development experience.
• Experience in patents or publications at top-tier peer-reviewed conferences or journals.
• Previous experience in the aerospace or signal processing industry.
• Expertise in filtering technologies, such as Kalman Filters.
• Proficiency in the simulation and analysis of GNSS raw measurements, including pseudorange and carrier phase.
• Familiarity with hardware/software integration and real-time operating systems.
• Track record of developing complex, mission-critical systems successfully delivered to customers.
• Experience in gathering requirements through effective communication with end users, business teams, and management.

Compensation

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $136,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $222,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
