Job Overview
Amazon Robotics is looking for a Senior Software Engineer III to join our Robotic Navigation Technologies team. This role involves architecting, designing, developing, and testing navigational systems for our global fleet of mobile robots. You will be part of a diverse team of engineers working on scalable navigational systems for mapping, motion planning, navigation data services, and maintenance systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect, design, and implement robotic applications and infrastructure.
- Influence the team's strategy and contribute to the long-term vision and roadmap.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across various teams to iterate on design and implementation.
- Maintain high standards in engineering by participating in code reviews, designing for fault tolerance, and operational excellence.
- Prototype and test concepts or features through simulation and with live robotic equipment.
- Work directly with customers and partners to test prototypes and incorporate feedback.
- Mentor other engineering team members.
About You
You are a seasoned engineer with a passion for robotics and software development. You have a strong background in programming and are skilled in designing systems that are both scalable and reliable. Your problem-solving skills are top-notch, and you have a knack for prototyping and testing new concepts.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
- Proficient in at least one programming language.
- Experience leading design or architecture of new and existing systems.
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead, or leading an engineering team.
Preferred Qualifications
- M.S./Ph.D. in Science or related field.
- Strong background in algorithms, especially in autonomous path planning or navigational solutions.
- Experience with AWS Robotics and developing cloud services.
- Demonstrated ability to design, implement, and test in a fast-paced environment.
