Bitfinex is a leading digital asset trading platform, offering state-of-the-art services for digital currency traders and global liquidity providers. We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Backend Developer to join our remote team and contribute to the development of our backend services.
Key Responsibilities
As a Senior Backend Developer, you will be part of the team responsible for the backend components of all Bitfinex services, including our main trading application, Bitfinex Pay, Lightning Network support, and blockchain integrations. Your responsibilities will include:
- Developing New Products and Features: Collaborate with the team to create innovative features that enhance the trading experience for our customers. Utilize agile methodologies to ensure a seamless user experience.
- Ensuring Scalability: Maintain the smooth, responsive, and real-time performance of all backend services as the platform scales to accommodate new user growth. This includes working on the renowned Bitfinex API, known for its low-latency and comprehensive features.
- Prioritizing Security: Build API services and backend processes with the highest security standards to protect our user base.
Required Skills
- Exceptional skills in Node.js and JavaScript
- Experience with microservices architecture
- Proficiency in interacting with databases such as MySQL and MongoDB
- Ability to quickly learn new technologies
- Strong understanding of security practices
Nice to Have
- Experience with blockchain integration
- Familiarity with high-availability concepts
- Skills in Ruby, Rust, or C++
- Knowledge of message queues (e.g., Redis), caches, and job queues
