Job Description
As a Senior Backend Engineer at Magic Eden, you will be responsible for building new services to meet critical product and business needs. You will use Node.JS to design scalable systems and solve novel problems with modern cloud technology and industry best practices. You will articulate a long-term vision for maintaining and scaling our backend systems and the teams running them. Collaborating with engineers, designers, product managers, and senior leadership, you will turn our product and technical vision into a tangible roadmap every quarter.
Responsibilities
- Build new services using Node.JS
- Design scalable systems to solve novel problems
- Articulate a long-term vision for backend systems
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver on product goals
- Write high-quality, well-tested code
Who You Are
- You have at least 6+ years of experience in software engineering.
- You've designed, built, scaled, and maintained production services.
- You have a strong understanding of service-oriented architecture.
- You are passionate about building an open financial system that brings the world together.
Nice to Haves
- Experience with rapid company growth (from startup to mid-size)
- Experience with growth experiments or A/B testing frameworks
- Experience with Blockchain technology (e.g., Solana, Bitcoin, Ethereum)
- Experience decomposing a large monolith into microservices
- Familiarity with AWS, Web3.js, NodeJS, Postgres, MongoDB
- Experience building financial, high reliability, or security systems
