Senior Backend Engineer

About the Role

As a Senior Backend Engineer at One, you will be instrumental in building the products and systems that serve our customers and run our company. You will be responsible for writing, reviewing, and shipping code, and collaborating with various teams across the company, including product, design, data, customer support, operations, and compliance. Our engineers are highly technical, communicative, and emotionally intelligent.

Key Responsibilities

Collaborate closely with other engineers to ship code. We value teamwork and partnership in solving complex problems.
Build and maintain comprehensive documentation. As a growing and remote organization, having the necessary documentation is key to our success.
Solve complex problems that arise at scale, dealing with real-world money movement and sensitive financial data.

5+ years of professional experience in building and shipping non-trivial products and services.
Passion for your craft and care for the people you work with, valuing quality across code, communication, and culture.
An act-like-an-owner mentality with a bias toward taking action.
A desire to keep growing your skills and an ability to learn quickly.

Tools We Use

We use the fp-ts library for functional programming with Node/TypeScript running on top of Kubernetes and AWS. While experience with these specific tools is not required, familiarity with functional programming concepts will help you ramp up more quickly.

Pay Transparency

The estimated annual base salary for this position ranges from $175,000 to $240,000. Pay is generally based upon the level, complexity, responsibility, and job duties/requirements of the specific position.
