Job Description
Lightspark is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join our dynamic team in Culver City, California. As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing, building, scaling, and maintaining our production services. You will work closely with the community to enhance the Lightning Network protocol and implementations, creating a rich services layer to serve the next set of users and use cases, and bringing Lightning to mass adoption.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, scale, and maintain production services.
- Develop a deep understanding of the Lightning Network and collaborate with the community to improve core protocols and implementations.
- Create a rich services layer to serve new users and use cases, facilitating the mass adoption of Lightning.
- Build frameworks to collect and analyze Lightning data for solution improvement.
- Extend Lightning with advanced functionality to solve complex problems and introduce it to broader audiences.
- Collaborate in a highly collaborative environment to learn and grow.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in infrastructure or back-end engineering.
- Proven experience in writing high-quality, well-tested code.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills across technical and cross-functional teams.
- A degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience is ideal but not required.
- Experience using data to influence decisions.
- Familiarity with off-the-shelf coding/deployment solutions such as Docker, Kubernetes, AWS.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Rust, C, C++ is preferred.

Compensation
- Salary range: $200,000 - $230,000 per year.
