About the Role
As a Data Engineer II at Accolade, you will be a crucial part of our data platform team, responsible for designing, building, and maintaining our cloud-native, service-oriented data infrastructure. This role is pivotal in supporting our company's growth in data ingestion, processing, and business intelligence.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and Implement Data Infrastructure: Develop scalable data platform infrastructure using AWS and modern technologies like Databricks to support current and future data use cases.
- Collaborate with Teams: Work closely with data scientists and developers to understand their requirements and optimize the infrastructure accordingly.
- System Integration: Ensure smooth integration of the data platform with other systems and applications.
- Resource Management: Configure and manage platform resources including clusters, nodes, and disks.
- Performance Monitoring: Monitor system performance and proactively identify and resolve issues.
- Automation: Automate processes and workflows to improve efficiency.
What We Are Looking For
- Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: 2-3 years in data processing or building data infrastructure.
- Technical Skills: Understanding of cloud computing, experience with AWS data stack (S3, EMR, RDS, DynamoDB, Kinesis/Kafka, Redshift, Elasticsearch, SQS, SNS), and proficiency in Python or other programming languages.
- Problem Solving: Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Communication: Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Additional Skills: Experience with scalable distributed data processing technologies like Spark is a plus. Familiarity with data analytics and machine learning concepts is advantageous.
