About the Role

As a Senior Data Engineer at Exclaimer, you will be a key member of our Data Platform team, responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining reliable, efficient, and scalable data systems and pipelines. Your work will support our growing business by ensuring that data is collected, analyzed, and shared effectively across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze Complex Data Challenges: You will analyze complex data challenges and recommend solutions that meet the identified requirements.
• Design and Develop Data Systems: Design, develop, and maintain efficient, reliable, and scalable data systems and pipelines.
• Collaborate with Teams: Work closely with the data analytics team to understand requirements and ensure adequate data architectures.
• Align with IT and Product Teams: Collaborate with IT, platform, engineering, and product teams to deliver technically robust and business-aligned solutions.
• Agile Environment: Work well in a modern agile software engineering environment, with source code control, release cycles, extensive testing, and continuous deployment.

Skills and Expertise

• Educational Background: BSc/MSc in Computer Science or related fields.
• Experience: Proven experience in designing architecturally robust solutions for complex software problems, especially in data-related areas.
• Software Development Practices: Experience with rigorous software development practices using state-of-the-art patterns and modern practices.
• Communication: Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
• Technical Skills:
  • Experience with ETL/ELT pipelines, including both batch and stream processing.
  • Proficiency in programming with Python/Spark (e.g., PySpark, Spark SQL, Spark Streaming).
  • Familiarity with data manipulation libraries (e.g., Pandas, NumPy).
  • Knowledge of Databricks and related technologies (e.g., Delta Lake, Delta Live Tables).
  • Experience with relational (e.g., SQL Server) and No-SQL (e.g., MongoDB) databases.
  • Familiarity with message queues and streaming services (e.g., Azure Event Hub, Kafka).
  • Familiarity with Azure and other cloud-native technologies.
