About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Data Scientist to join our Data Science (Geo Vision) team at Grab. This team is pivotal in enhancing our mapping capabilities and building map-based intelligence that supports various Grab services such as transportation, logistics, and pricing. The role involves leveraging advanced computer vision and machine learning techniques to automate map creation and improve map accuracy in the fast-paced Southeast Asian environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Object Detection and Tracking: Develop and deploy computer vision algorithms for object detection, positioning, instance segmentation, and tracking.
- Model Deployment: Implement machine learning models on embedded platforms, ensuring optimal performance and resource utilization.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with product teams to define requirements and specifications for map-based intelligence solutions.
- Performance Analysis: Conduct thorough performance analysis and fine-tune models for efficient execution on embedded systems.
- Stay Updated: Keep abreast of the latest advancements in machine learning and computer vision technologies to continuously improve our solutions.
Qualifications
Must-Haves
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong experience with image processing algorithms and advanced computer vision techniques, including projective geometry, camera localization, motion estimation, and 3D reconstruction.
- Proficiency in designing, training, evaluating, and optimizing deep learning networks.
- Experience with Python and libraries such as OpenCV, PyTorch, and TensorFlow.
- Solid understanding of machine learning methods for classification, regression, and clustering.
- Strong English communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present data insights effectively.
Nice-to-Haves
- Experience with camera localization and motion estimation using sensors like GPS, IMU, video, and magnetometer.
- Proficiency in system-level software, particularly hardware-software interactions and resource utilization.
- Knowledge of optimization techniques for resource-constrained environments.
