About the Role
Grab is seeking a talented Data Scientist to join our Data Science (Geo Vision) team. This team is pivotal in enhancing our map-based services, which include localization, routing, travel time estimation, and traffic forecasting. As a Data Scientist, you will be at the forefront of developing innovative solutions using Computer Vision, NLP, Information Retrieval, Text Mining, and conventional machine learning techniques.
Key Responsibilities
- Automate Map Creation: Utilize data science techniques to automate the process of map creation.
- Deploy Algorithms: Implement computer vision algorithms and machine learning models on embedded platforms.
- Collaborate Across Teams: Work with cross-functional teams to define product requirements and specifications.
- Performance Analysis: Conduct performance analysis and fine-tune models for optimal execution on embedded systems.
- Stay Updated: Keep abreast of the latest advancements in machine learning and computer vision technologies.
Qualifications
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Python and familiarity with libraries such as PyTorch, Tensorflow, Fast.ai, NumPy, OpenCV, and scikit-learn.
- Machine Learning Expertise: Understanding of machine learning methods for classification, regression, and clustering.
- Deep Learning Knowledge: Experience with designing, training, evaluating, and optimizing convolutional neural networks (CNNs) for tasks like object detection, segmentation, and OCR.
- Cloud Experience: Familiarity with the Azure cloud platform for deploying or maintaining ML systems.
- Language Proficiency: Proficient in English.

This role is based in Cluj-Napoca, Romania, with a hybrid work model allowing for both on-site and remote work.
