At BetterUp, we are committed to transforming lives through our innovative coaching and development platform. We are seeking a Senior Full-Stack Engineer to join our Core Experiences team, based in the Netherlands, with a hybrid work model that includes time in our Amsterdam office.
About the Role
As a Senior Full-Stack Engineer, you will lead and execute projects that involve multiple developers and complex requirements. You will be responsible for planning strategically, identifying and solving strategic problems, and ensuring the quality and maintainability of our codebase. You will also empower your team by providing data systems and processes that leverage both quantitative and qualitative inputs.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead Projects: Plan and execute initiatives involving multiple developers, prioritizing strategically and solving complex problems.
- Craft Quality Code: Deliver code that sets the standard for quality and maintainability, while staying aware of industry trends and tools.
- Empower the Team: Enable team members to answer questions with data systems and processes, leaving a trail of documentation and screencasts.
- Mentor Engineers: Consistently mentor other engineers, teaching and training them in software engineering practices.
- Collaborate Across Teams: Work with cross-functional teams to answer business questions and influence product roadmap decisions.
What We Are Looking For
- Alignment with BetterUp's mission of enabling self-driven behavior change.
- High degree of initiative and ownership, with the ability to navigate ambiguity and adapt quickly to change.
- Experience working collaboratively in a cross-functional team.
- Ability to communicate complex ideas effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- 6+ years of relevant technical experience, including experience in a startup or remote work environment.
- Experience building and supporting production-grade consumer applications with a modern web technology stack.
- Familiarity with Agile product development processes (SCRUM, Kanban, Lean Startup).
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
