About the Role
As a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer at bol.com, you will be part of a dynamic team that pushes the boundaries of what is possible with technology in the e-commerce space. Your role will involve both front-end and back-end development, ensuring that our platform not only meets but exceeds the expectations of our users.
Responsibilities
- Optimize Our Existing Web Application: You have extensive knowledge of React, Node.js, and Next.js to enhance the performance and functionality of our current platform.
- Server-Side Rendering Expertise: Apply your extensive experience with server-side rendering, especially gained on platforms comparable in scale to bol.
- Node.js Optimization in Kubernetes: You have a solid understanding of running optimized Node.js applications within Kubernetes environments.
- Performance and Debugging: Engage in profiling, debugging, and code refactoring to ensure server-side and client-side optimizations, particularly within Next.js.
- Master Build Pipelines: Develop efficient build pipelines to deploy Node.js applications seamlessly.
- Identify and Resolve Bottlenecks: Utilize your keen eye to detect and resolve possible performance bottlenecks in React applications.
- High Performance and Maintainable Code: Show your passion for creating high-performance code that is both elegant and maintainable.
- Cross-Disciplinary Collaboration: Perhaps your best quality, your knowledge extends beyond your own domain, and you can effortlessly exchange ideas with colleagues from other disciplines.
Additional Skills Are a Plus
- GraphQL Proficiency.

You’ll join the bol shop foundation front-end team, located in the Shopping domain. The team consists of a combination of multiple app and web front-end developers.
