About the Role
Join Clear Street as a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer in our Execution Management System (EMS) team. You will be responsible for building highly available, horizontally scalable mission-critical applications using a modern technology stack. This role will allow you to sharpen your advanced front-end and full stack engineering skills by tackling some of the most challenging problems in the industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain high-performance trading platforms that provide access to liquidity venues across multiple asset classes.
- Collaborate with users to understand and define new features, driving them to completion.
- Work closely with stakeholders to define requirements and creatively work within constraints.
- Develop a deep understanding of the business domain to enhance the platform's capabilities.

The EMS team at Clear Street is dedicated to providing best execution for all asset classes in all regions. We are actively building a state-of-the-art cloud-based trading platform that offers cutting-edge charting capabilities, sophisticated order handling, and flexibility to service both active traders and institutional workflows.
Tech Stack
- Languages & Frameworks: TypeScript, React, Java, Go, Redux, RxJs, Express
- Tools & Technologies: Apache Kafka, Docker, Kubernetes, gRPC, Protobuf
Requirements
- Minimum 7 years of experience with strong proficiency in TypeScript, React, and UI state management (e.g., Redux).
- Proven experience as a Full Stack Software Engineer working on electronic trading systems.
- Experience with Node.js server-side frameworks (e.g., Express, Socket.io).
- Familiarity with Java, gRPC, and Protobuf.
Bonus Skills
- Experience with high throughput, low latency, and high capacity systems.
- Strong knowledge of the FIX protocol.
- Experience with streaming paradigms and tools like Kafka.
