Global Markets Application Developer, AVP

Job Overview

State Street is seeking a Global Markets Application Developer, AVP, to join their team in Boston, Massachusetts. This role is part of the Globallink division, a leader in providing electronic trading platforms for multiple asset classes. The primary focus will be on developing enhancements and supporting the ongoing evolution of State Street’s industry-leading foreign exchange trading and supporting services.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate closely with product owners to implement full life-cycle, full stack development tasks.
• Develop enhancements and support the ongoing evolution of State Street's foreign exchange trading services.
• Write comprehensive documentation, unit tests, and review code of other developers.
• Use common design patterns to write commercial, fault-tolerant, multi-threaded, real-time, performance-critical, and scalable systems software.
• Develop and test well-designed user interfaces using modern Web UI technologies such as HTML5, CSS, JSP, Servlets, Spring MVC, Spring Boot, JavaScript, ES6, NodeJs, TypeScript, GraphQl, ReactJS, Redux, Jest, Enzyme, AJAX, JSON, and related technologies.
• Develop complex database programs, queries, and utilities utilizing SQL and PL/SQL with Oracle.
• Integrate with other financial applications using standard API (FIX) and proprietary/custom APIs in the Foreign Exchange Domain.
• Develop CI/CD pipeline scripts using Jenkins, Groovy, JFrog, GIT, etc.
• Maintain high levels of written and verbal communication skills to customize communications for each target audience.
• Provide on-call support for critical code troubleshooting, especially for client integrations.

Required Skills and Experience

• Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Experience with large-scale enterprise projects.
• Strong knowledge of core programming skills like Core Java, SQL, and ReactJS.
• Solid knowledge of Spring Boot and Spring MVC based applications.
• Expert-level knowledge of Core Java and understanding of the latest Java features.
• Experience with Web UI technologies including HTML5, JavaScript, and CSS.
• Experience with React.js, TypeScript, Redux, Sagas, and related technology stack.
• Experience with server-side frameworks such as Nest, GraphQL.
• Knowledge of FIX Protocol and implementation in Forex Market.
• Experience with JavaScript-based unit testing frameworks such as Jest, Enzyme, and React-testing library.
• Experience with CI/CD tools/languages like Jenkins, GIT, Groovy.

Education & Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field.
• 7 years of experience in Java and WebUI related development.
