The Role: Senior Machine Learning Engineer

As a Senior ML Engineer at Cantina, you will be at the forefront of designing and implementing advanced AI models that bring our lifelike AI bots to life. Your expertise in machine learning and scalable ML infrastructure will be crucial in developing innovative features that revolutionize how people connect and create online. You will tackle exciting challenges in conversational AI, speech recognition, image processing, and video generation.

Responsibilities

Propose, design, and prototype strategic new ML features.
Implement and fine-tune ML models to solve real-world problems.
Own the implementation of your models, considering factors like model size, performance, and latency.
Collaborate with other teams to integrate ML models into various pipelines and experiences.
Launch and monitor ML model deployments through A/B testing, responding to user feedback and telemetry.
Leverage academic research to ensure our technology reflects and advances the state of the art.

About You

5+ years of experience in building production-grade machine learning models in industry or academic settings.
Experience in NLP, speech recognition, image generation, and video generation is a plus.
Proficient in Python and deep-learning/NLP tools and frameworks (e.g., Scikit-learn, Pandas, PyTorch, TensorFlow, NLTK, spaCy, Jupyter).
Demonstrated interest in generative AI frameworks like diffusers, comfyUI, and A1111 webUI.
Experience building end-to-end scalable ML infrastructure on platforms like GCP, AWS, or Azure.
Strong teamwork skills, including effective communication and collaboration with both technical and non-technical team members.

Location and Compensation

We have offices in Sunnyvale, CA, San Francisco, CA, and Brooklyn, NY. While we focus on candidates near our office hubs, we offer fully remote and hybrid employment opportunities. In compliance with Pay Transparency Laws, the base salary range for this role is between $175,000-250,000, depending on skills, experience, job scope, location, and competitive compensation market data.
