Senior Software Architect

Job Overview

Salesforce is seeking a Senior Software Architect to join our dynamic team. This role is pivotal in driving the end-to-end architecture of our products, ensuring they are scalable, maintainable, and aligned with our strategic technology initiatives. As a Software Architect, you will work closely with Product Managers, Engineers, and other Architects to craft solutions that meet our high standards of engineering excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Architectural Leadership: Coordinate and drive the end-to-end architecture of the product, crafting overall architectural principles, frameworks, and standards.
Solution Development: Create solutions that are enterprise scalable and maintainable, driving strategic technology initiatives.
Consultative Role: Work in a consultative fashion to improve communication, teamwork, and alignment among teams inside and outside of the organization.
Product Strategy: Analyze and provide feedback on product strategy, providing input into long-range product requirements, standard methodologies, and operational guidelines.
Research and Innovation: Drive research, case studies, and prototypes on innovative technologies and how they can be used.
On-call Rotation: Participate in the team’s on-call rotation to address complex problems in real-time and keep services operational and highly available.

Required Skills and Experience

Mastery in multiple programming languages and platforms.
15+ years of software development experience.
Ability to independently craft and deliver large sophisticated projects.
Experience with Agile development methodology (e.g., Scrum).
Ability to work with other architects, principal architects, and Chief Technology Officers to craft the architectural vision and roadmap for the organization.
Develop technical performance architecture that solves complex performance issues.
Experience in short release cycles and the full software lifecycle.

Preferred Skills

Familiarity with Salesforce platform is a plus.

Compensation

For Washington-based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $151,800 to $341,900. For California-based roles, the base salary hiring range is $165,600 to $372,900. Compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
