About the Role
Dave is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join our dynamic team in the financial services sector. This role is pivotal in building and maintaining the underwriting engineering systems that power our core credit products. As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will be responsible for launching new features, designing and implementing workflows, and integrating machine learning models to enhance user access to credit.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain backend code supporting millions of users.
- Define the roadmap and architecture based on technology and business needs.
- Develop backend systems in Typescript and integrate underwriting rules with Machine Learning models.
- Regularly participate in code reviews and other team functions.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to the team.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
- 4+ years of software engineering experience with a focus on backend development.
- Strong problem-solving skills and proficiency in programming languages such as Java, JavaScript, Python, C/C++, or Go.
- Effective communication skills and a positive attitude.
Nice to Have
- Experience with React, React Native, Typescript, NodeJS, MySQL, Spanner, GCP, Docker, Kubernetes, and Firestore.
