Job Overview
Credit Genie is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join our team and work on the backend platform that powers our consumer mobile app. This role is crucial in developing and maintaining backend microservices that are reliable and scalable, ensuring they meet the evolving needs of our products.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain backend microservices using technologies such as Node.js, TypeScript, and Golang.
- Leverage AWS services like Amplify, Lambda, DynamoDB, Kinesis, SQS, Cognito, and EKS to build highly reliable services with low latency.
- Build monitors and alerts to identify and mitigate production incidents early.
- Collaborate with stakeholders from product, marketing, and other departments to align initiatives with business priorities.
- Contribute to all phases of the development lifecycle, including code reviews, standups, planning meetings, and product/technology demos.
- Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends to enhance our product suite and maintain a competitive edge.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in one or more general-purpose programming languages such as Node.js, TypeScript, Go, Python, or Java.
- Experience in building backend services deployed on AWS or other cloud services.
- Proficiency in GraphQL, REST, HTTP, and the ability to design and implement maintainable APIs.
- Entrepreneurial spirit with a self-directed, innovative approach and a bias towards action in fast-paced environments.
- Technical leadership experience in payment processing systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
Nice to Haves
- Experience working on personal finance management products or consumer apps with over 1M active users.
- Experience in payments processing.
- Familiarity with consumer credit risk and the customer lifecycle.

Compensation
The base pay for this role ranges from $150,000 to $250,000 annually. This role may also be eligible for other forms of compensation and benefits, such as a discretionary bonus, health, dental, and other wellness plans, and 401(k) contributions. Actual compensation will be determined based on skills, qualifications, and experience.
