Meta is seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer to join our Infrastructure team. This role is pivotal in designing and developing the core backend software components that power Meta's vast array of products used by billions of people worldwide. Responsibilities
- Design and Develop: Create core backend software components using primarily C/C++, Java, PHP, and Hack.
- Collaborate: Interface with other teams to incorporate their innovations and vice versa.
- Review and Improve: Conduct design and code reviews to ensure high-quality software development.
- Optimize: Analyze and improve the efficiency, scalability, and stability of various system resources.
- Ownership: Establish yourself as an owner of a particular component, feature, or system with expert end-to-end understanding.
- Project Management: Successfully complete projects of large scope while maintaining a consistent high level of productivity.
Minimum Qualifications
- 6+ years of programming experience in a relevant programming language.
- 6+ years of experience building large-scale infrastructure applications or similar experience.
- Experience with scripting languages such as Python, JavaScript, or Hack.
- Proven track record of setting technical direction for a team and driving consensus.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Exposure to architectural patterns of large-scale software applications.
- Experience in programming languages such as C, C++, and Java.
