Join Meta as a Software Engineer in Infrastructure
Meta is seeking an experienced Software Engineer to join our Software Engineering (Infrastructure) team. This team is responsible for building large distributed components that power Facebook, handling millions of requests per second with sub-second latency and fault tolerance. We manage everything from data storage at Facebook scale to synchronization and coordination of large server clusters, and provide a runtime environment for front-end Facebook code.
Responsibilities
- Design core, backend software components.
- Code primarily using C/C++, Java, PHP, and Hack.
- Interface with other teams to incorporate their innovations and vice versa.
- Conduct design and code reviews.
- Analyze and improve efficiency, scalability, and stability of various system resources.
Minimum Qualifications
- 2+ years of programming experience in a relevant programming language.
- 2+ years of experience building large-scale infrastructure systems or similar experience.
- 1+ year of experience identifying, designing, and completing medium to large features independently without guidance.
- Experience with scripting languages such as Python, JavaScript, or Hack.
- Experience building and shipping high-quality work and achieving high reliability.
- Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining, a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience. Degree must be completed prior to joining Meta.
Preferred Qualifications
- Exposure to architectural patterns of large-scale software applications.
- Experience in programming languages such as C, C++, Java.

Compensation
- Salary: $56.25/hour to $173,000/year
- Additional compensation includes bonus and equity.
