Job Description
We are seeking a Software Development Engineer to join the Customer Engagement Technology (CET) team within Amazon Customer Service. This role is pivotal in redefining the customer contact experience by developing a messaging-based contact channel and new technology-based chat channels using an automated assistant (chatbot). These technologies aim to better understand customer problems and guide them to resolution via automation.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with other software engineers to drive improvements to our technology.
- Design and develop new services and solutions.
- Build and track metrics to ensure high-quality results.
- Provide the ultimate customer service experience by anticipating and resolving customer questions using the Chat platform.
- Work with business partners and leadership to influence and drive product vision and lead the design of our systems.
A Day in the Life
You will work closely with senior leaders across cross-functional stakeholder teams within Amazon to drive collaboration and influence them to prioritize projects, meet objectives, and adhere to business plans towards shared objectives.
Basic Qualifications
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience (design patterns, reliability, and scaling) of new and existing systems.
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language.
Preferred Qualifications
- 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
