Media Engineering
Media Engineering is an innovative organization that is focused on providing the best possible video playback experience, art, and metadata to customers around the world, powered by exceptional technology. This strategic work requires streamlining and repurposing technology across different business and distribution channels – including streaming, linear, and theatrical – so that technology can ebb and flow across the needs of the business.
Tooling Ecosystem Team
The Tooling Ecosystem Team is responsible for developing software solutions that enhance UI/UX frameworks, authentication, and web infrastructure that support the operator tools within Media Engineering. Our mission is to seamlessly integrate user experience with top-notch security measures.
What You Will Do
- Craft and maintain the UX/UI framework that enhances developer productivity for operator tools.
- Assist in managing the authentication integrations to the wider company login service.
- Understand the business needs and work with business partners to clarify questions that emerge during execution.
- Contribute to the team's core fundamental software project needs by applying the team's best practices and standard software guidelines.
- Collaborate with other engineers to deliver new features and bug requirements.
- Support a culture of collaboration and innovation.
- Build quality products.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Experience in Frontend UI development and proficiency with one or more general-purpose programming languages (JavaScript and/or HTML/CSS).
- Desire to work in a start-up, fast-growth, or rapid-change environment.
- Problem-solving skills to identify the root cause.
- Solid communication skills – written, and oral.
- Understanding of agile methodologies and git source control.
- Experience in programming with Backend development (Java/Python).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with React, Angular, NodeJS.
- Experience building APIs.
- Experience with AWS technologies and cloud infrastructure.
- Experience using technologies/services such as Terraform, Jenkins, Docker.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or comparable field of study, and/or equivalent work experience.
Compensation
The hiring range for this position in Santa Monica, CA is $93,400 to $125,200 per year and in NY, NY is $98,000 to $131,300 per year based on a 40-hour work week. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
