Job Description
Join Microsoft as a Software Engineer II on the Windows Cloud Streaming and Graphics Team. This role is pivotal in developing cutting-edge cloud streaming technology for Windows, focusing on low-latency streaming, real-time graphics, network resiliency, and video codecs. You will be part of a team that brings powerful cloud computing to users through products like Windows 365 and Azure Virtual Desktop.
Responsibilities
- Develop Next-Gen Cloud Streaming: Design and implement new tools and techniques to enhance the visual quality and responsiveness of cloud streaming.
- Collaborate with Diverse Teams: Work closely with peers in design, hardware, program management, and software development to deliver robust technical designs and architectures.
- Full Software Development Lifecycle: Engage in all aspects of software development, including design, implementation, testing, maintenance, documentation, and delivery.
- Lead by Example: Solve complex technical problems and maintain high standards of craftsmanship in our products.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Extensive experience in software development with languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
- Strong C++ development and debugging skills.
- Proven ability to work in a team environment on a shared code base.
Preferred
- Experience with OS networking stacks, video codecs, and low-latency video encoding/decoding.
- Knowledge of machine learning applications in networking and video/audio.
Security Requirements
- Must pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire and every two years thereafter.
