Job Overview
Microsoft is seeking a skilled Software Engineer to join our Kevlar for Linux team. This role is pivotal in enhancing the security and performance of Linux workloads within Microsoft. As a Software Engineer, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement features focused on Linux-based systems, ensuring the integrity and confidentiality of data.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and Maintain Software: Create scalable, reliable, and secure software solutions that meet business requirements.
- Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams to design and implement features with a focus on Linux-based systems.
- Security Best Practices: Apply security best practices throughout the software development lifecycle.
- DevOps Culture: Embrace a DevOps culture, advocating for automation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of our deployment and development processes.
- Mentorship and Code Reviews: Participate in code reviews, provide mentorship to junior engineers, and contribute to the team's knowledge-sharing efforts.
Qualifications
Required
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline, or equivalent experience.
- Programming Languages: Proficiency in C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
- DevOps Tools: Understanding of DevOps tools and methodologies, including CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, and automated testing.
- Containerization and Cloud Platforms: Experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) and cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS).
- Linux System Administration: Proficiency in Linux system administration, including configuration, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.
Preferred
- Certifications: Certifications in Linux, security, or DevOps-related fields are highly desirable.
Additional Requirements
- Security Screening: Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements, including the Microsoft Cloud Background Check.
