The most successful companies, like Amazon, Google, and Meta, employ thousands of data scientists and spend billions on infrastructure and human operations to solve data-related challenges. Refuel’s platform enables enterprises to clean, enrich, and label their mountains of messy, unstructured data with superhuman accuracy by leveraging state-of-the-art LLMs. Our users are building applications such as recognizing merchants in credit card transactions, parsing candidate resumes, enriching business profiles, and standardizing product catalogs. With LLMs, we believe we can solve the data quality bottleneck for every enterprise in the world and accelerate the era of AI abundance.
The Team
Refuel was founded by Rishabh Bhargava and Nihit Desai and is backed by General Catalyst and XYZ Ventures. We are a small, tightly knit team of builders with deep backgrounds in AI, having worked at leading technology companies and institutions such as Meta, Google Deepmind, Amazon, Lyft, Primer.ai, Stanford, and Cambridge. We work out of our offices in San Francisco, CA.
What You Will Do
- Design, develop, and maintain critical platform features from idea to completion, ensuring they meet our standards for scalability, performance, and user experience.
- Work closely with our machine learning and product teams to design APIs and implement new features in response to user feedback.
- Rapidly prototype and refine Refuel’s applied AI functionalities to ensure we are the best-in-class platform for enterprises to clean, enhance, and label data at scale.
- Help spearhead the direction of our engineering team as we scale.
You Will Be a Great Fit If You Have
- A strong technical background in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Proficiency with Python and prior experience building data-intensive applications on cloud environments such as AWS or GCP is a big plus.
- Prior experience with LLMs or the infrastructure & tooling ecosystem around LLMs (Axolotl, vLLM, Langchain, DSPy, evaluation frameworks, etc.) is a big plus.
- Strong communication skills and a willingness to work in a collaborative environment. We encourage open discussion and want the best ideas to win.
- A curiosity about the early startup and company-building journey.
