Software Engineering Co-Op (Web Development)

About the Role
REDCOM Laboratories, Inc., a U.S. company specializing in advanced strategic, operational, and tactical communication solutions, is seeking a Software Engineering Co-Op to join our team. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys coding, learning, and solving problems in a supportive team environment. You will be part of the development team for our Sigma software platform, contributing to applications that provide secure real-time voice, video, and chat communication capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement web applications and websites used to monitor and administer a system for secure real-time communications.
- Engage in both front-end and back-end development, ensuring seamless integration of functionalities.
- Work with technologies such as PHP, JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS.
- Participate in an Agile/Scrum environment, utilizing practices like unit testing, code reviews, and continuous integration.
Qualifications
- Active pursuit of a BS or MS in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Preference for students who can commit to a double-block full-time Co-Op position.
- Freshman students will be considered, with preference for Sophomore and Junior year students.
Desired Skills
- Proficiency in PHP/SQL, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery.
- Experience with UI/Front-End development.
- Experience with RESTful APIs.
- Basic knowledge of FreeBSD, Linux, or other Unix environments.
- Basic knowledge of IP/Networking.
Compensation
- Software Engineering Co-Op Hiring Range: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour, based on a 40-hour workweek.
