Role Overview
If you marvel at witnessing your code efficiently and reliably perform tasks on computers, this job may be for you. If you often find yourself identifying a task you repeated twice and think, "I should write a script to automate this," this job may be for you. In this role, you will have the opportunity to act on your automation instincts and witness the fruits of your work solve real work problems.
You will use Ansible playbooks along with software engineering processes like source control and version management to ensure the high availability of critical but scarce shared hardware/resources for the team. Your work will ensure that:
- In the event that a resource is corrupted or damaged, a clone can be quickly stood up in order for the development cycle to continue uninterrupted.
- Development machines can be quickly recreated to expedite the onboarding of new team members.
You will learn Ansible configuration management and multi-machine deployment systems as well as Git source control.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain automation scripts using Ansible.
- Manage version control using Git.
- Ensure high availability of shared resources.
- Collaborate with the engineering team to improve development processes.
Qualifications
- Experience with programming and software development.
- Familiarity with version management and automation tools.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
