The Squarespace Domains group is seeking a talented Senior Software Engineer with expertise in Java to join our team in Aveiro, Portugal. As part of our dynamic engineering department, you will play a crucial role in developing and scaling our backend services to support our growing product needs. This is a hybrid role, requiring you to work from our Aveiro office three days per week.
About the Role
In this position, you will have the opportunity to contribute to one of the largest domain registrars in the world. You will work on interesting challenges related to infrastructure, scalability, and reliability, and participate in high-impact projects that shape the future of our Domains and Email products.
Key Responsibilities
- Help scale our services to support our growing product needs.
- Participate in high-impact projects to help build the future of the Domains and Email products.
- Work with and learn from Senior and Staff engineers on the team.
- Lead well-scoped backend projects with guidance from senior engineers.
Who We're Looking For
- 5+ years of experience developing production systems using Java or similar object-oriented languages.
- A solid foundation in computer science, with competencies in data structures, databases, and software design practices.
- BS or MS in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent industry experience.
- Ownership towards features and projects you are working on.
