Overview

As a Technical Leader in Full Stack Software Engineering, you will be at the forefront of creating intuitive technologies that optimize experiences, secure locations, and seamlessly connect people, places, and things. This role involves pushing boundaries, experimenting, and making IT solutions faster, smarter, and more efficient.
Responsibilities
- Work across the full stack, building scalable distributed solutions that enable positive user experiences and measurable business growth.
- Collaborate closely with Cisco device platform engineering teams to design, develop, and optimize enterprise-class solutions.
- Ensure system reliability, performance, and operational excellence by implementing tests, telemetry, and alerting systems.
- Take complete ownership from conception to production release, influencing and facilitating cross-team collaboration.
- Define team direction based on engineering and business priorities in partnership with Engineering Managers and Product Managers.
Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in large-scale system development, preferably for cloud-connected hardware devices.
- 3+ years of experience in coding web backend technologies such as Node.js, Django, Ruby on Rails, Scala, or Go.
- Proven ability to make architectural and system design choices and to communicate trade-offs effectively.
- Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills in distributed systems using a data-driven approach.
Bonus Points
- Proficiency in Java/Scala, Ruby on Rails.
- Strong knowledge of networking technologies (IPv4/6, TCP, UDP, VLAN, DHCP, DNS, HTTP, etc.) and cloud scale system development.
- Experience with production operations (CI/CD, oncall, monitoring/alerting, incident postmortems, writing oncall playbooks).
