The Program

Timeframe: June-August 2025

The Role

We are seeking an ambitious Machine Learning Engineer to join Bose Research this coming spring. At Bose, we apply machine learning to a diverse set of problems, ranging from speech enhancement to audio perception. As a Machine Learning Engineer intern, you will help build our next generation of wearable and speaker products empowered by deep learning. This position is full-time (40 hours/week) for 3 months starting in June 2025.

Responsibilities

• Develop, train, and evaluate deep learning algorithms with a focus on audio problems.
• Research, implement, and evaluate a variety of published approaches and algorithms for machine learning and audio signal processing.
• Build phone and desktop software prototypes to enable new machine learning and audio experiences on our wearable products.
• Suggest, collect, and synthesize requirements to inform the machine learning product roadmap.

Minimum Qualifications

• Currently pursuing or in the process of obtaining an M.S. or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Machine Learning, or a related field.
• Strong programming background with 2+ years of experience in Python and C/C++.
• Strong experience in implementing deep neural networks with Tensorflow, Keras, PyTorch, etc.
• Experience with cross-group and cross-culture collaboration.
• High levels of creativity and quick problem-solving capabilities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Proven software engineering experience via an internship, work experience, or coding competitions.
• Strong publication record in relevant venues demonstrating innovative research.
• Solid understanding and experience working with audio and digital signal processing.
