Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Backend Engineer to join our dynamic team at emagine. This role involves developing backend services for applications used by millions daily. You will be instrumental in implementing new features, enhancing performance, and building robust services.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deploy backend services focusing on high availability, low latency, and scalability.
- Build and operate infrastructure and deployment pipelines in GCP.
- Collaborate closely with other engineers in an autonomous, cross-functional team.
- Take operational responsibility for the services owned by your team, including on-call rotations.
- Continuously innovate on the service through A/B testing to improve the product.
Who You Are
- Experienced in architecting, designing, and developing in Java, with Scala being a plus.
- Comfortable working with modern infrastructure and tools, and running software in Linux environments.
- Knowledgeable about sound engineering practices like continuous delivery, defensive programming, and automated testing.
- Familiar with designing and building distributed and scalable systems, and enjoy seeing millions of users running your code.
Additional Information
- Start Date: August/September
- Duration: 6 months with the possibility to extend.
- Location: Remote work is possible within the EU. Other applicants will not be considered.
