Join the Digital Experience Composition Platform team at Zalando, a key player in shaping what over 30 million active customers see during their visit to our Fashion Store. As a Backend Engineer, you will be instrumental in driving the discovery, design, and development of high-quality, cutting-edge services that significantly impact customer engagement.
Responsibilities
- Full development cycle: Discovery, design, develop, deploy, operate, monitor, and improve important software solutions.
- Work with tech stacks including Scala, Finch, React, Dynamo DB, Redis, PostgreSQL, and Kubernetes.
- Engage in planning, writing TDDs, code reviews, and lean rituals.
- Collaborate across multiple teams and locations.
- Contribute to product management discussions to align on company initiatives.

What We’d Love You to Do
- Bring a strong willingness to learn new skills and a solid knowledge of functional and/or JVM languages, ideally Scala.
- Experience in building high traffic production RESTful APIs.
- Be a strong team player with a fun-loving attitude and a drive to grow others.
